About Us
The Class Room, Inc., is a family owned business purchased in
November of 1983 by Maxine Fennessey. At the age of 70, she retired
from a career that began as a First Grade teacher and ended with her
being the superintendent of one of the local elementary school districts.
Always being a woman who loved a challenge, she decided that
purchasing a business would be a way for her to stay involved in
education and also give her "something to do."

Maxine passed away in November of 2005 at the age of 92, but her
legacy continues as her daughter, Colleen a retired kindergarten
teacher, now owns and operates the store.

The Class Room, Inc., is staffed with all educators, which includes
family members as well as retired educators from the area. This
knowledge helps customers feel confident when choosing gifts and
items from the store.

"We feel our educational background, as well as our love for children
gives us the necessary ingredients to make The Class Room, Inc., a
special place to grow."
